Phase 1: See

See how industry 4.0 can work for you
Join our study visits to frontrunner companies and living labs in countries around Europe. Here, you will see with your own eyes how smart sensors can be applied and the best practices for using the resulting data and information to the benefit of your company. We’ll share more info about the study visits as we go – so stay tuned!

Phase 2: Learn

Learn from ideation sessions and one-on-one
Ideation sessions will take place after the study visits. The purpose is to gather ideas, discover the challenges of participating SMEs and find out how S3FOOD can support the SMEs. SMEs will be offered one-on-one support by experts and S3FOOD partners to develop and fine-tune ideas and solutions.

Phase 3: Team up

Team up at our matchmaking events
The next step is matchmaking at two crucial international events. Participating companies will have the opportunity to present their needs and solutions and find relevant partners. To ensure the best possible attendance, participants can apply for funding to cover some or all of their travel expenses.

Phase 4: Develop

Develop your idea through targeted training
Technology training and business coaching will be available to all participating SMEs in the form of online webinars and physical training sessions. We’ll also include a web-based tool on the S3FOOD website to provide an overview of all S3FOOD services, facilities and support opportunities.

Phase 5: Get funding

Get funding to implement your project
Once you have developed and finalised your idea and project plan, each SME can apply for funding to implement it. SMEs with the best project will be awarded vouchers up to the value of 60,000 euros.

Small and medium sized agri-food companies and technology providers from a country in Europe.

Links with other EU projects

Connsensys
The aim of the Connsensys project – Connecting smart sensor systems for the food industry – is to create a European network of interconnected and open access living labs to facilitate the implementation of intelligent sensor systems in the agri-food industry. Shared support services and demo cases will be established.

S3FOOD will build on the learnings from Connsensys and mutual benefits will be explored.

Smarts Sensors 4 Agri-food
This Thematic Smart Specialisation Partnership aims to build a joint platform for agri-food and electronic/ICT cluster organisations, relevant research and technology organisations (RTOs) and other related stakeholders. Through this, agri-food companies will gain better access to the newest smart electronic systems, facilitating the Internet of Things (IoT) transition of the agri-food industry. The network is part of the Smart Specialisation Platform.
