Digital Optimisation Intralogistics in the Meat Industry

German meat producer Richter Fleischwaren will start this digital optimisation project because of what they describe themselves as slow and incomplete flows. The company has to be digitised for a better resource efficiency and faster reactions to the market.

As a result, Richter Fleischwaren has partnered with RBK Automation GmbH, RBK Food Projects BV, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Food for Analytics BV to change this. The project aims to solve a variety of different questions and challenges and will lead to an “ordered today, delivered tomorrow” standard.

Final report summary
Extensive automation and robotization ensure progress and safety in order to be prepared for the future. This applies not only to Richter Fleischwaren, but also to the other project participants. Further investigations would be useful of the impact of demographics on product ranges and the labour market, the integration of the entire supply chain, etc.

The DO-Intrameat project has provided the project partners with important insights for incorporation in daily work and their corporate strategy. There is still a lot of work to be done to achieve the final goal.
